Welcome to the website of the Škoda Family Museum. The museum was founded in October 2018 in the historic building of “Black” Water Tower in Pražská Street in Pilsen. The museum is dedicated mainly to a medicine doctor Josef Tomáš Škoda, a prominent physician who was born in the water tower. In the room of his birth there is an exhibition dedicated to him. The other half of the museum is dedicated to a significant factory owner Sir Emil Škoda, who founded the renowned Škoda works in the late 1960s in Pilsen.

About the Water Tower:

The Gothic tower was built in 1532 as part of the fortifications of the city of Pilsen. Originally, the tower supplied the city with water by a pump system. The reconstruction of the building on the corner of today’s Pražská Street is from 1822. The underground part of the tower is part of a popular Pilsner Underground tour that can be entered from the Brewery Museum building, Veleslavínova 58/6.
